Meet Mrs. M.

Hello! I am Mrs. M. and I hope you find our classroom website helpful.  I hold a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University, Irvine, and my Bachelors Degree, Clear Credential and Supplementary Authorization in math/single subject were obtained through Cal State San Bernardino.  The 2010-11 school year will be my 9th year teaching and my 4th year at Gardner Middle.  The previous grade levels I have taught are Kindergarten, 1st, 4th and 6th.

For my family, I have been married to my wonderfully supportive husband for more than 20 years.  When he's not writing home loans or insurance policies, he is our classroom tech support!  We have 2 amazing boys who both attend Chaparral High.  Our oldest son, DJ, is almost a private pilot.  I can't wait to FLY to Tahoe and put that 9 hour drive behind us!  Talk about putting your life in your child's hands!  But I trust him...he's actually a natural.  Our younger son, Zack, is our professional X-Box and Runescape player...he's still in veg mode and getting his life back from his years in club soccer.  But, he'll be driving soon - September, in fact, so two huge events for our family this year!

We have 2 dogs and lots of fish.  Astro, aka "Moosie" is our huge Newfoundland.  He is a 150+ pound cuddle machine who still thinks he's a puppy!  Misty, our lab/retriever mix is older .  She is our dainty little girl who just loves Astro as if she were his mommy.  Oh, and lots of fish...

As you can tell from our home page, I like moose (stems from a VERY OLD family joke)!  Some of my favorites are: peanut  M&M's, with the top amusement parks being Magic Mountain (in Valencia) and Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio.  If you like coasters, you'll love Cedar Point!  It actually makes Magic Mountain look like Disneyland!   MercyMe and Tenth Avenue North are my favorite bands, and for cartoon characters, Marvin Martian is too hilarious.  In the winter our family enjoys snow skiing (in Tahoe of course) and in the summer we have found that whitewater rafting is our first choice.  In my spare time, I enjoy reading books about teaching and effective strategies, but for entertainment, I enjoy mysteries and adventures.  Puttering on the computer and catching a good movie is always a plus.

Thank you for cruising our site - I hope you find it informative and helpful whether or not you are a parent/student in our classroom.  Please feel free to email any comments or suggestions.

Have a great day!

Sincerely,

MM
